The Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River welcomes Michelle Blockberger as its new administrative officer.
Blockberger has more than 15 years of experience in federal service and has served as an administrative assistant at Upper Delaware S&RR since 2014. During that time she has served as the acting administrative officer and has provided leadership to park staff on administrative matters since January 2019. As a native of Honesdale, she is familiar with the park, its visitors, and neighbors.
“I am so excited to join the management and administrative teams at Upper Delaware and I look forward to the challenges ahead in my new assignment in an area I love and have called home for so long," she said.
Before working at Upper Delaware S&RR, Blockberger worked in a variety of administrative support positions at Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton, Tobyhanna Army Depot, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Waymart. She attended Luzerne County Community College and Lackawanna Junior College with a focus on business and accounting. These experiences have provided her with a diverse base of knowledge in budget, travel, office management, human resources and other skills that prepared her for a leadership position on the Upper Delaware team.
Blockberger lives in Honesdale with her husband. She has one son, who lives in Greeley, Colorado. She enjoys spending time outdoors, spending time with family, and hiking with her dog.
