Hospital names chief nursing officer
NEWTON, N.J. Newton Memorial Hospital (NMH) has appointmented Ardelle C. Bigos RN as Chief Nursing Officer of Newton Memorial Hospital. Bigos, who has served in an interim capacity for several months, was selected following an arduous and comprehensive process which included peer evaluations, interviews with medical staff leadership, and input from various levels of the hospital organization. “Ms. Bigos has a real passion for service and quality patient care,” said Tom Senker, President and CEO of Newton Memorial Hospital. “I am confident that she will serve this organization, its employees, physicians, and communities with distinction.” Following graduation from Trenton State College in 1983 with a B.S. in Nursing, Bigos obtained her Master of Science Degree in Nursing and her Medical-Surgical certification. Bigos has most recently served as Director of Acute Care Operations at NMH since December. As chief nursing officer, Bigos will be accountable for providing senior management leadership and direction for the Division of Patient Care Services while ensuring patient safety and quality. “I am very excited about the future,” Ms. Bigos said. “In addition to serving as an effective CNO and supporting the outstanding nursing team here at Newton, I will be focusing on nursing excellence, building on the already outstanding reputation we have in quality patient care.”
