MILFORD — More than 250 senior citizens attended Dingman Delaware Middle School's 23rd annual dinner-theater recently.
Students shined bright — not just on stage with their performance of "Aladdin, Jr.," but with their artwork, which served as table centerpieces. And the Warrior Ambassadors escorted the senior guests and served them throughout the evening.
“We just wanted to thank the students and staff for the kindness and service they provided for us,” one couple wrote in a letter to principal James Mitchell after the event. “It’s been too long since that kind of courtesy has been shown by the younger generation and we applaud your influence on them.”
Students served pasta with all the trimmings, along with homemade carrot cake compliments of Mrs. Karen Day. The seniors also received raffle tickets as a part of this complimentary evening.
The student-hosts extend a special "thank you" to the many local businesses who donated more than 30 door prizes raffled off during dinner.
