As the general election approaches, the Pike County Board of Elections reminds voters of important deadlines and tips to avoid any problems when heading out to vote on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

October 29 – Last day to apply for a mail/absentee ballot.

October 29 – Early voting ends.

November 5 - Completed mail/absentee ballot must be received by the county elections office by 8 p.m.

November 5 – Canvassing/scanning of mail/absentee ballots begins at 7 a.m.

November 5 – Election Day. Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Voters can check their registration status, find their polling place and track their ballot at vote.pa.gov.

Fact-check false election claims and learn more about election security by visiting the Pennsylvania Department of State website (vote.pa.gov).

There have been many phishing and texting scams reported being received by voters related to their voter registration and/or mail-in ballots. Voters should not click on any suspicious links or give personal information via text or email.

Plan ahead. Peak voting times are between the hours of 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Check your registration status before heading to the polls.

Bring ID with you. Although ID is only required for first-time voters, for those voting in a new polling location for the first time and inactive voters, it’s always a good idea to carry ID with you to the polls in case you need it.

Be sure to follow the instructions when voting your ballot whether you are voting by mail or at the polls.

Election results will be posted on the county website as they become available after the polls close: pikepa.org.

Statewide results can be viewed at vote.pa.gov.

The Board of Elections said it is expecting a very high turnout on Election Day, so “please bring your patience and be respectful of our hard-working poll workers and your fellow citizens inside the polling place and while waiting on line. Election Day is a day to be celebrated! Everyone deserves to feel safe and free from intimidation when exercising their right to vote.”
