Bushkill Outreach Community Food Pantry seeks volunteers

The Bushkill Outreach Program is in search of volunteers to continue its mission to provide food for families in need in Pike and Monroe counties.

Volunteers are needed to:

• Drive the truck to pick up food items at several local companies and deliver them back to the Outreach on Tuesdays and Thursdays from approximately 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. A commercial driver’s license (CDL) is not required.

• Unload and put away food items when the truck returns on Tuesdays and Thursdays from approximately 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

• Pack grocery bags to distribute to clients on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

• Provide data entry and office assistance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Bushkill Outreach Program is a state-registered community food pantry in northeastern Pennsylvania, serving both Lehman Township in Pike County and Middle Smithfield Township in Monroe County. The mission of Bushkill Outreach is to offer basic support and sustenance to neighbors in need in the form of food and personal care products. Originating in 1978, Bushkill Outreach serves more than 350 households or 1,000 persons each month.
