DINGMAN — The Cliff Park resort is moving ahead with plans, Dingman Township code enforcement officer Chris Wood told supervisors in January.
“I received the application and plans for the replacement systems to correct sewage problems at Cliff Park," he said. "The repairs are necessary to get the Inn back in operation."
He said the work is going to take some time.
"The plan is 44 pages thick," he said.
The Cliff Park golf course opened last year, but the Inn itself needs new systems to open. Last fall, Wood reported that the site has one large system and two smaller, regular-sized systems. The first system covers the Inn and the couple of houses next to it. The second system is the normal size for what’s known as "the superintendent’s house." And the third system is the seventh tee for the use of people on the golf course.

In other business, Wood reported that he’s completed the 2014 report, required by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, on Dingman’s sewage program activities. He listed the following:
New construction sewage permits issued — 19
New construction sewage permits finalized — 19
Treatment tanks replaced — 17
Absorption areas replaced/repaired — 24
Average age of absorption area that was repaired (for systems installed after Jan. 1, 1983) — 19.9 years.
“We’re getting on average almost 20 years out of a sewage system before it fails,” Wood said.
