County gains another funding boost for EMS training
Milford. Kinder Morgan, Inc. recently donated $25K to this cause.
The Pike County Emergency Initiative Fund (PCESI) received a $25,000 donation from Kinder Morgan, Inc. to support EMS training in Pike County. Allen Fore, Kinder Morgan’s vice president of Public Affairs, attended the July 17 Pike County Commissioners meeting to present the contribution.
The PCESI fund, administered through the Greater Pike Community Foundation (GPCF), was created in 2019 by the Pike County Commissioners and Public Safety Department, with founding donations from the law firm of Weinstein, Zimmerman & Ohliger; William Lovejoy; and individuals who supported the NEPA Gives day of philanthropy. The mission of the fund is to provide adequate funding to qualified Pike County emergency services agencies and other nonprofit emergency response organizations to advance the cause of emergency medical services in the County through support of, and access to training programs.
According to the county, since its implementation, PCESI has provided 34 EMS recruits each with $1,400 of free training and supplies, totaling $47,600 in scholarship assistance.
Fore said “Kinder Morgan is committed to public safety and is pleased to contribute to the Pike County Emergency Services Initiative Fund. Ensuring our first responders are adequately trained and protected is at the forefront of Kinder Morgan’s community outreach.”
Gifts to the fund can be made online at greaterpike.org or by sending checks made payable to GPCF/PCESI to P.O. Box 992, Milford, PA 18337.
