Delaware Valley Choral Society seeks singers
Milford. This society wants you know: “singing creates spiritual well-being!”
The Delaware Valley Choral Society is looking to add some local singers to its ranks. And it promises to be a fun, enriching experience for those who participate.
“If you would like to increase your well-being, come and sing with the Delaware Valley Choral Society where you can join other lovers of the art and sing wonderful music with a group of really friendly people!” the group implored. “Singing together not only helps your well-being, but the well-being of the audience we sing to – the result is a boost in your spirit and everyone else around you!”
If this sounds like something of interest, stop by the next rehearsal. The Choral Society holds rehearsals on Sundays starting at 2 p.m. at the Milford United Methodist Church (206 East Ann Street, Milford). Music and rehearsal CDs are provided. The Choral Society noted that “every effort is made to help you learn music for the concerts we perform,” adding, “additional help is provided in sectionals and if desired, one-on-one help.”
If the joy of singing and performing isn’t enough, there’s also the comradery that comes with joining the Choral Society, which enjoys post-concert dining at area restaurants and celebrates socially every year with a picnic. “We really want to include you in all the fun!”
The Delaware Valley Choral Society is a non-profit group dedicated to performing major choral works in their original form. The group performs two concerts a year, and incorporates aspiring musicians from the area, as well as professional musicians to bring major works of music to the Pike County community. Dues are $25 per concert performed.
The Choral Society’s next performance, “Christmas in Germany,” is slated for December 16 at 4 p.m. at the Milford United Methodist Church. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students, and free for children five and under. For more information, visit the Choral Society website at dvchoralsociety.org.
