Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC) welcomes Licensed Clinical Social Worker Dorothy Walline, LCSW, to the staff of the Behavioral Health Center.

The Behavioral Health Center, located in Honesdale, is an outpatient treatment facility providing a full-range of behavioral and mental health services to adults, adolescents and children. The Center is staffed by a board-certified psychiatrist, a registered nurse specializing in Behavioral Health and Licensed Clinical Social Workers.

Walline says a career in social work seemed inevitable for her, “as a kid I was always curious as to what people were thinking or why they were feeling a certain way.”

While exploring career choices as a high school student enrolled in the Pennsylvania Governor’s Schools of Excellence Program for Teaching, she found herself drawn more toward “one-on-one interaction with students” then instructing an entire class.

Walline received a Master of Social Services Degree from Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, Bryn Mawr, Penn. and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, Mass. She received certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2011 following a two-year volunteer assignment with the Peace Corps as a Special Education Volunteer in the Jordan Valley located in the Middle East.

With eight years of experience in the behavioral health field and an interdisciplinary Specialization in Child and Family Wellbeing from Bryn Mawr Graduate School, Walline comes well prepared to meet the needs of patients at the Center.

She welcomes the opportunity to work in a small practice, “my day-to-day will be very familial allowing me to feel engaged as a member of the community working towards making things better for patients and their families.”

WMCHC, a federally qualified health center and clinical affiliate of Wayne Memorial Health System, Inc., accepts most private insurances and medical assistance. A sliding fee scale is offered based on income.
