Matamoras. This story was originally written by DVE-News/TV reporters Maverick Poveda, Saraah Garrity, Lihanna Rewoldt, Jason Stierle, Jenelle Leslie, and Logan Cuttler.

DVE-News/TV reporters were at it again and took off to interview Lisa McAteer from McAteer & Will Estates with Keller Williams Real Estate. We entered the newly renovated office and were warmly welcomed. We met Mr. McAteer, who is a self-taught photographer. You can see his photos throughout the office space. We got a tour of the office space and then began our interview. We must say she has a lot of energy and loves putting forth great energy.
She explored journalism when she was in college. Dan Rather inspired her. McAteer was on radio too. She was then on New Jersey’s News 12. The best part about being a journalist is talking with new people every day. She told us that being a news director and on the radio is a big responsibility and very exciting. It’s crucial to be unbiased and to just report facts.
Reporters discovered that they didn’t need to go to college to become a realtor but do need to pass a course in order to become a real estate agent. She didn’t always want to become a realtor, but she loves to help people and now loves real estate. She has been a real estate agent for five years.
When asked what the most expensive house that she sold was, she told us she’s sold homes in the millions. The most unusual thing she’d seen in a home was a bathtub in the living room with a waterfall that led to a pool. The hardest homes to sell are homes that require a lot of work and repair. She also loves decorating and the first thing she does when she sees a home for the first time is decide how the furniture will be staged. The number of hours an agent works varies by week. There could be very early hours, or very late hours too. When asked how she deals with difficult buyers and sellers, she told us that it’s important to find out why they are mad, upset or disappointed and help them work through it. McAteer told us that her biggest accomplishment in life is being the number one Pike County real estate agent.
McAteer was asked what she would do today if she wasn’t a realtor, she said she would travel the world and eat good food. Speaking of food, we all had pizza and cupcakes together. Thank you Mrs. McAteer for having us and welcoming us into your office.
