DVE-News/TV interviews the owner of Naked Bagel

DVE-News/TV reporters were invited to the Naked Bagel to interview owner Scott Oliver. We were greeted by many happy, and kind personnel. Oliver brought us in the back of the shop where the magic of making bagels is done.

He had us help him add the ingredients, watched it mix, then we each took turns rolling the bagels into rings with the help of a special machine.

Oliver explained how to make bagels from beginning to end. We made a batch of Tooty Fruity bagels. He put them in his special oven that gets as hot as 600 degrees! We had asked about the boiling process that many New Jerey and New York bagel shops do. His special oven bakes and steams the bagels, therefore no need for boiling!

As the bagels cooked, we conducted the interview. He has wanted to own a bagel shop since he was a young boy. His family works and is involved in the Naked Bagel. The most popular bagel is the everything bagel and the item that sells the least is liverwurst.

After our interview, we sat down and ate the bagels we made. They were delicious! We got the opportunity to ask more about the history of the building, which actually sat many years ago, across the street. It was many businesses years prior to a bagel shop, including a drug store. At the end of the interview, Oliver spoke with us that it was his last day owning the Naked Bagel, as the shop had been sold. But never fear, we will be seeing Oliver again in town!
