DVES students enjoy science experiment
Matamoras. The students saw how weather events affect the world around them.
Delaware Valley Elementary School third-grade teacher Adrianna Nelson recently taught her students about weathering, erosion, and deposition, which concluded with a hands-on experiment to show how each works in real life. According to the school district, the students used sand, a container, small rocks, and water to demonstrate how weathering, erosion, and deposition can occur in a river.
They worked together in small groups to create rivers to see how the water of the river can break down rocks and move them to a new place. After they completed the experiment and saw how weathering, erosion, and deposition can occur, they wrote detailed explanations of what happened and answered questions about the three processes.
“They had so much fun learning and getting their hands dirty!” the school district added.
