Ecumenical Food Pantry receives United Way grant
Milford. The funds will go toward the pantry’s Healthy Options program.
The Ecumenical Food Pantry of Pike County recently won a United Way grant for $4,000 to help support the expense of its Healthy Options program. Under this program the pantry purchases a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables to distribute to families every week. This is in addition to the wide variety of shelf-stable dried, canned, and frozen foods provided to pantry families.
“We’re so grateful for the long-time support of the United Way,” said pantry treasurer Jim Snodgrass. “We are able to provide a choice of supplemental groceries to an average of over 70 families a week, thanks to the support of the United Way and donations from generous individuals and groups in our community.”
Anyone interested in making a gift to help the pantry fight hunger in Pike County, may send it to the Ecumenical Food Pantry of Pike County at 321 Fifth Street, Milford, PA 18337.
