Everyone’s Irish at the Port Jervis St. Patrick’s Day Parade!
Port Jervis. The annual parade took place on March 3.
A whole lot of green was on displace on Sunday, March 3 in the city of Port Jervis as residents, organizations, and notable community figures donned their best St. Patrick’s Day gear to celebrate all things Irish.
The parade began on Canal Street, then traveled onto Orange Street, crossing Main Street onto Pike Street/Uptown Business District, making the jughandle by Burger King onto Front Street/Downtown Business District, then downtown onto Jersey Avenue, ending at Fowler Street by the Erie Depot.
The 2024 Grand Marshal of the parade was Kevin Keane and his wife Dawn. Several awards were also given out to parade participants: The Hudson Valley Regional Police Pipes and Drums won for Best Marching Unit, the Junior Catholic Daughters - Court Madonna 114 won for Most Irish Spirit, Matamoras Fire Department and Water Rescue won for Best St. Patrick’s Day Float, the Delaware Township Volunteer Ambulance Corp won for Best Presentation - First Responders, the Port Jervis Elks Lodge 645 won for Best Youth Group, and the Grand Marshal’s Choice award went to Girl Scout Troop 703.
