MILFORD — Opening day at the Milford Farmers Market was a smash.
The market is located at The Grotto Restaurant, 508 West Harford St., and will return every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., through Sept. 27 — rain or shine. During last Saturday's opener, Chef Adam whipped up delicious meals for the hungry crowd, as did many other vendors.
Two 10-month-old alpacas, named Stars and Stripes and High Achiever, greeted everyone who came by. Alpacas apparently love to have their long necks petted and scratched. One tiny young admirer said they were "secretly purring."
The Tara Minstrels, a traditional Irish group based in Pike County, played to the delight of the packed crowd.
