Free seminar on how to recruit and retain volunteers
FERNDALE, N.Y. — Sullivan Renaissance will hold a seminar titled “Marketing Tips for Recruiting and Retaining Volunteers” at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the CVI Building located at 165 Sullivan Avenue in Ferndale, N.Y.
Understanding that the grants awarded yearly are brought to fruition through the hard work and dedication of community volunteers, Sullivan Renaissance wants to help groups avoid volunteer fatigue by providing a tool box of marketing tips to attract more people to beautification efforts.
“Communication is everything when it comes to appealing to new volunteers and keeping steadfast help engaged in a project,” said Cory Dame, Marketing and Events Coordinator at Sullivan Renaissance. “This seminar is for community groups looking to get the scoop on reaching potential volunteers using social media along with more traditional outlets.” Dame will lead the seminar and cover topics such as: identifying your audience, Facebook best practices, spreading the word via newspaper, community calendars, direct mail and radio.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Space for the seminar is limited and pre-registration is requested. To register visit SullivanRenaissance.org/seminar or call the Sullivan Renaissance office at 845-295-2445.
Sullivan Renaissance is a beautification and community development program principally funded by the Gerry Foundation with support from Bold Gold Media Group, The River Reporter, The Sullivan County Democrat, DVEight, The Times Herald-Record and Thompson Sanitation.
