In an effort to provide area veterans with needed resources, Rep. Joe Adams (R-Pike/Wayne) announced that a monthly service to assist local veterans and their families is available at his district office in Hawley. This outreach is in addition to the services already being provided by the Wayne and Pike County Veteran’s Affairs offices.
On the second Monday of each month, American Legion Department Service Officer William McGovern will be available at 2523 Route 6, Suite 2 in Hawley, to assist veterans and their dependents. Appointments are available at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Services include assistance with compensation, pension and death benefits, education and health care, and other benefits. Veterans do not need a membership with the American Legion to receive these services.
To schedule an appointment, contact the district office at 570-226-5959.
