Greetings fellow Dingman Township residents! My Name is Theo Balu and am running for Dingman Township Supervisor this year.
I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits considering our nation’s current situation. I would like to take this opportunity to provide you with a brief synopsis of myself and my aspiration for Dingman Township Supervisor.
My wife Melissa, my children and I have been fortunate enough to call Dingman Township our home for the past 8 years. My children attend the school system here and we all hold a very strong sense of community. Shortly after moving to The Woodlands, I decided to open a small business in Town. I currently own and operate Patriot Arms & Munitions, LLC in Milford. Being a small business owner and operator for the past seven years has rewarded me with a tremendous amount of business operations experience that could benefit our Community.
I currently hold positions on the Dingman Township Planning Board and the Pocono Mountain Woodland Lakes Board of Directors. I am also a fellow Mason and I belong to the Milford Masonic Lodge #344 and am a founding member of a local charitable organization called Widows Sons.
I’m also a member of the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) which consists of licensed radio operators who register their qualifications and equipment, with their local ARES leadership, for communications duty in public service when disaster strikes, which could possibly be expanded for Dingman Township in the event of such emergencies.
During my participation in various community roles, I’ve had the pleasure to meet and work with so many great people in our community. My conversations with you have become the basis of my platform and the reason I am asking for your vote. I am willing to serve and give back to the community I call home.
I believe my management and leadership skills would be an asset as a Supervisor. I am self-motivated, innovative, sociable, work well under pressure and I am a true team player. My goal is to make a positive impact while serving on the Board of Supervisors.
Some of my goals for Dingman Township would be to ensure that our Emergency Services and Road Department have the necessary tools and funding required to provide the level of service needed for our township. I would increase the level of transparency of the board with the residents of our township. One change that I would really like to see implemented would be to ease the communications between residents and the supervisors through the use of email which is unfortunately not being used in Dingman Township at this time. This could ease the burden of township residents trying to get information for township needs on a day-to-day basis.
I would see to it that all work performed for the township is done through proper business proposals with multiple bids and the best candidate be awarded the contract. I would like to review the Employee Handbook to make sure our hard-working employees are getting the benefits they deserve. I will work hard on the fiscal wellbeing of our Township while being fiscally responsible to our Tax Payers. I will also make myself accessible to the residents of Dingman Township for the full six-year term if elected.
I am a full supporter of our U.S. Constitution and the PA Constitution and would uphold my oath of office in my public commitment to the duties, responsibilities and obligations that are associated with holding this position as a community leader.
I look forward to meeting more residents of our township and talking about your hopes and concerns while we work together for the good of our Community.
Please come out and Vote on May 18. Hope to see you there!
Theo Balu
