The Human Resources Center, Inc. (HRC) recently announced the successful completion of a new garden at the Pike Building located at 117 Pike County Blvd., Hawley, made possible by a donation from The American Legion Post 139 of Milford. This project, led by James Percicas, was officially unveiled last Friday during a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by a luncheon to honor and thank the benefactors.

The new garden will serve as a multifaceted space for the individuals the Center supports, offering skills-building opportunities, a sensory-friendly environment, healthy living activities, and a tranquil place for relaxation and regrouping.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to the following members of The American Legion Post 139 for their support and presence at the event: Jim Mulligan, post commander; Frank Skala, first vice commander; Gene Hudson, finance officer; Tom Celano, executive board member; Dawn-Anne Fugger, aux unit president; [and] Carole Kennedy, auxiliary member,” the Human Resources Center said in its announcement.

Human Resources Center CEO Darlene Glynn, expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the donation, emphasizing the positive impact the garden will have on the Center’s programs and the well-being of the individuals the organization serves. “This garden is more than just a beautiful addition to our facility; it’s a testament to the power of community collaboration and support,” said Glynn.

The announcement also included thanks to all HRC employees, particularly those working at the Pike Building, “whose dedication and hard work have been instrumental in bringing this project to life.”
