On Saturday, August 31, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Lacawac Environmental Education Center will host “Adopt-A-Tail on the Trail” to support the local animal shelter, Griffon Pond Animal Shelter. The event is free, but donations will be accepted.

The event promises “a day filled with furry friends, outdoor adventures, and plenty of opportunities to make a difference in the lives of shelter animals.”

Visitors will be able to meet some pups available for adoption starting at 11:30 a.m. in the Education Center’s outdoor classroom. The event will also have vendors selling pet- and human-centric items from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., guided dog hikes (you must sign up for a time slot), and non-guided dog hikes from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
