Matamoras. Fifth-graders in Mrs. Kudrich’s class at Delaware Valley Elementary School learned about life in colonial times. The students were asked to complete a project about a particular topic during this era, then presented it to their class, followed by a class activity. Pictured is Regan Donnelly, who gave a presentation about explorer John Smith, who played an important role in the establishment of the colony at Jamestown, Va., the first permanent English settlement in America. After the presentation Regan gave the class a five-question quiz and showed the class how to make origami boats. (Photo by Peg Snure)
