Local grad to serve as student teacher to area school

Matthew C. Byrnes of Milford was chosen to be one of the 20 University of Scranton education majors to serve as student teachers during the spring semester at 12 local schools in the following nine school districts: Dunmore, Carbondale Area, Mid Valley, North Pocono, Riverside, Scranton, NEIU, Valley View and Wayne Highlands.

Byrnes, a graduate student, will serve as a student teacher at Mid Valley Secondary Center in the Mid Valley School District.

Byrnes is majoring in secondary education — biology at The University of Scranton, a Jesuit university located in northeastern Pennsylvania.
