Local students are inducted into college honor societies
Milford. Jessica Sudano of Milford is a junior early childhood and special education major at King's College. Carly Richardson of Newfoundland is a senior physiology major at the University of Scranton.
Jessica Sudano of Milford and Carly Richardson of Newfoundland have been inducted into their colleges' honor societies.
Sudano is the daughter of Joseph and Barbara Sudano. She was one of 42 students at King’s College, Wilkes-Barre, to be inducted recently to the college’s honor society, which recognizes students of superior academic ability and achievement who are also involved in significant service-related extracurricular activities.
Sudano is a junior early childhood and special education major. She is secretary for the college’s Education Club and a member of the King’s Theater and the Kappa Delta Pi and Delta Epsilon Sigma honor societies.
Richardson was among the 19 University of Scranton students inducted into Beta Beta Beta, the national honor society for biology. She is a senior physiology major.
For induction into the honor society, students must have completed at least three biology courses, maintained at least a 3.0 grade-point average in biology, and be in good academic standing at the University.
The honor society encourages undergraduate biological research through presentations at conventions, publication in the journal BIOS, and research/travel grants. The university's chapter of the honor society was established in 1994.
