Man hunt continues

Lt. Colonel George Bivens of the Pennsylvania State Police held a press conference on Friday afternoon Oct. 3 at the Blooming Grove Town Hall regarding updates on the manhunt for fugitive Eric Frein.

As TV news cameras rolled Bivens displayed a enlarged state police photograph showing several backpacks and other items left at a campsite once used by Frein. It appears he left the area in a hurry as law enforcement was closing in.

Included in the items were the pipe bombs found this past Tuesday along with clothing and 90 rounds of the same .308 bullets used to kill a state trooper and wound another. Bivens also said that Frein left behind canned tuna fish and ramen noodles that Frein has been surviving on.

Now that he is running low on food he may be forced to break into area cabins to find something to eat. The PSP along with other Federal and state law enforcement agencies continued to flood the search area with heavily armed officers on foot as well as in heavy armored vehicles, SUV's, vans and cars. Frein is listed on the FBI's ten most wanted list.
