— The Lacquer Nail Bar in Milford recently added Caitlin Hartey as massage therapist.
Hartey will be providing clients with relaxation and medical techniques for their mental and physical well-being. Massage services are available from Wednesday to Sunday and by appointment.
Hartey will use touch on the soft-tissues of the body to relieve pain and stress, help rehabilitate injuries, improve circulation, increase relaxation, manipulate muscles or other soft tissues of the body, and aide in the general wellness of her clients.
“Massage therapy is one of the best ways to not only alleviate stress, but also to fix your physical ailments,” said Katrina Foster, co-owner of Lacquer Nail Bar. “I have been getting massage for a number of years now, mainly for my allergies, but over the years it’s been more because I sit at a desk most of the day. I have seen the gamut when it comes to massage therapists and Caitlin at right there at the top with the area’s best.”
Surrounded by chiropractors her entire life — both her father and uncle are practicing chiropractors — Hartey always knew she wanted to help people in a more natural way. After a couple years at Penn State University, she decided that eight years of school just wasn’t for her. She enrolled at The Institute of Therapeutic Massage in New Jersey to become a board-certified and licensed massage therapist in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
“Being able to improve people’s health by taking a natural approach is really what I love to do,” said Hartey. “There is nothing more gratifying than making someone feel better when they are in pain, stressed out, or just looking to feel good. The fact that I get to apply my therapeutic skills every day at work is something that I truly enjoy.”
