Matamoras. Delaware Valley Elementary School teacher Mrs. Danielle Zito teaches empathy to all of her students, kindergarten through fifth grade. They discussed, in-person and virtually, the significance of appreciating their own individuality, respecting the differences of others, and celebrated the beauty of their collective diversity. Mrs. Zito shared a Maya Angelou quote to serve as inspiration. Each student selected a color of their choice to paint a monochromatic artwork for a collaborative mural in any way they pleased for 60 minutes of fun. The halls are decorative and very colorful as a result. (Photos by Peg Snure)
