The Milford Borough Council has regretfully accepted the resignation of Mayor Sean Strub, who leaves office a year prior to the end of his term. The president of the council, Joseph Dooley, will take over as interim mayor starting December 22, until the council is able to elect a new mayor. They have 30 days to do so. If any borough residents are interested in the position, resumes will be accepted up until December 31. They will then be expected to attend the January 6 meeting, where they will have one to two minutes to express their wish to become mayor. Council will then nominate their preferred candidates and a vote will be held.

The Rental Registration and Inspection Ordinance was vetoed by the mayor, citing a concern for tenants’ safety since the Ordinance would require the registry of names, which some felt was an invasion of privacy.
