Milford. The Milford Borough Council appointed two new members on March 30.
Maria Farrell and George Lufty are filling the seats vacated by former council members Luke Turano and Susan Lyddon, as of the March 16 meeting. Their terms were scheduled to end on Dec. 31, 2021.
Former Councilwoman Annette Haar also applied for the vacancies.
Borough Councilman Joe Dooley said Lufty and Farrell showed interest in running for a full four-year term in November, while Haar did not.
“Since we have such a high turnover on the council – and I can’t speak for anybody else – but I personally felt it was important to give them an opportunity to see what’s involved in being a councilman,” Dooley said. “I feel the nine months they’re going to be on the council would be great experience and not start from scratch.”
