Grey Towers Heritage Association invites local residents to explore volunteer opportunities on Tuesday, April 8 from 10 a.m.-noon at a workshop at the Grey Towers mansion.
GTHA hosts more than 20 events annually in pursuit of its mission to promote conservation by engaging the public in recreational, artistic, historic and educational activities. Grey Towers is the historic mansion and grounds of the Pinchot family and of Gifford Pinchot, first chief of the USDA Forest Service and two-term Pennsylvania governor.
Events at the historic mansion are made possible by volunteers, who are needed for the following:
Event set-up and greeters
Mansion guides and ambassadors
Music, arts, and literary events
Gift shop
Conservation education and youth programs, Reading Ranger
Conservation of the Laurel Hill Burial Ground and other landscape maintenance
Trail and site maintenance
Planting and gardening activities
Research for exhibit highlights, cataloging and storage of materials
Off-site promotional events
