The DDMS Student Council launched the initiative to give students an opportunity recognize their outstanding teachers. In November, students completed 164 forms, nominating a total of 32 teachers, which amounts to 73 percent of the teaching staff. From this nomination, the student council was pleased to honor "Mr. Z."

“Mr. Z makes everything he teaches fun,” one student commented on the nomination form. “He also makes everything so easy to understand."

"He is awesome, and sticks up for kids,” another said.

In December, sixth-grade English teacher Cindy Bachmann was voted to the honor out of another 176 forms, nominating 29 teachers.

“Mrs. Bachmann is really nice. She cares about us, and we do fun things,” students commented, while also noting that, “She let us start a Programming Club.”

The students are enthusiastic about the opportunity to honor teachers for their outstanding work in the classroom.
