Don Flynn of Burkavage Design Associates introduced newly prepared renderings of both the proposed new Delaware Valley Elementary School and the new high school gymnasium Thursday evening, March 15 at the DV board of education meeting. The new school will be some 80,000 square feet, including an expandable two-story classroom wing. The 32,545 square-foot gymnasium will feature two, full-size basketball courts for practice and bleacher seating for 1,000 at games, a new wrestling facility, and seating for 200 in a viewing area overlooking the natatorium pool. In addition to the demolition of the old elementary school, work scheduled for the summer at the stadium includes a new entry, visitors' facility, visitor's bleachers, scoreboard, and dugouts at the baseball field. Flynn said state education department approval work is ongoing and land development submissions for both projects are to be made over the next few weeks. Bids for miscellaneous 2012 project are due on April 4. Drawings and floor plans for both are shown here.
