The Delaware Valley High School’s Fishing Club is back!
Chemistry teacher and Fishing Club adviser Jessica Hill put together the club to engage young Pike County fishing enthusiasts.
Hill and the members of the club are fishing the river bank of the Delaware and have already caught species of smallmouth bass and fallfish. The goal is to provide an opportunity for students to enjoy nature and build a community based on a common fishing interest.
While developing angler skills and strategies, students learn about various river species, safe fishing practices and state laws/regulations. While learning these skills, the Fishing Club is providing an opportunity to use the natural resources in the local community.
