PEEC announces new leadership
Dingmans Ferry. Dingmans Ferry native Amanda Subjin will be acting CEO.
The Board of Trustees for the Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) recently announced its new executive leadership team.
Dingmans Ferry native Amanda Subjin was appointed PEEC’s acting chief executive officer. According to PEEC, she has a long history of involvement with PEEC. She returned to PEEC in 2022 to serve as director of Development and has spent two years gaining support from a variety of partners, donors, and funders. She has an educational background in forest science and experience in non-profit leadership.
Derek Scott was appointed acting chief operating officer. He’s been with PEEC for 10 years. He was most recently the director of Operations, working on the visitor experience at PEEC, including lodging, food service, and various programming. “Derek’s passion for the outdoors, combined with his formal education and experience in teaching others about the natural world, makes him an ideal addition to the Leadership Team,” PEEC said in its announcement.
The Board also appointed Kirsten Larick as acting chief financial offer. She has been with PEEC for six years and previously served as the director of Business Management. “Kirsten loves to work at PEEC where laughing children and migrating hummingbirds are regular visitors; this enthusiasm will serve her well as she joins the Leadership Team,” PEEC noted.
PEEC’s Chair of the Board of Trustees, Dr. K. Joy Karnas, added, “We are thrilled to have seasoned leaders at PEEC, ensuring a seamless transition as we continue our commitment to delivering exceptional environmental education in a setting of unparalleled natural beauty.”
