Pike County to host listening session on Pennsylvania’s ‘Master Plan for Older Adults’
Milford. The listening session will take place October 11 at 11:30 a.m. at Eastern Pike Senior Center
The Pike County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) will host a listening session on the Department of Aging’s development of the Master Plan for Older Adults – a 10-year, state-led plan designed to help transform the infrastructure and coordination of services for older Pennsylvanians. According to the county, the master plan will “reflect the needs and preferences of this population to live where they choose and access the supports they need to thrive and age in place.”
The listening session will take place October 11, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at Eastern Pike Senior Center in Matamoras (506 Avenue Q, Matamoras).
Stakeholders, older adults and people living with disabilities, their families, caregivers and community leaders are invited to hear an overview of the plan, its core principles, and why such a plan is needed for Pennsylvania. There will be opportunities for those in attendance to provide comments and input on the plan.
Those interested in attending the listening sessions should RSVP by October 2, by calling the Pike County Area on Aging at 570-775-5550.
Anyone unable to attend can provide input on the plan by emailing AgingPlan@pa.gov, providing feedback through an online form (available via the following link: bit.ly/48p1R9a) or by mailing the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, c/o Master Plan, 555 Walnut St., 5th Floor, Harrisburg, PA 17101.
