SHOHOLA — Check out these pet awaiting new homes at the Pike County Humane Society.

Bruiser: This 3-year-old has a name that does not suit him, as he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body, being only gently affectionate and well-behaved from your first meeting through playtime in the yard. He knows his basic commands and listens attentively when spoken to. He enjoys hugs, takes treats gently and likes to play without being rough or boisterous. If it’s true, as it’s been said, that the eyes are a window to the soul, take a good look into this fella’s big brown eyes and you’ll see a loving soul.

Fiona: Here’s an 8-month-old grey and black tabby little puss sure to win you over with her loving looks and gentle temperament. Turned in as a stray, she is now fully vetted, healthy and ready to adopt a family she can live with, play with and love.

Billy: Here is a real rescue for a very deserving guy. This happy 6-year-old fluffy and very cute cocker spaniel mix is an affectionate, very friendly fella who enjoys the attention of shelter visitors as well as the companionship of the other shelter dogs. Billy has a controlled case of lyme disease and may need occasional medications if flare-ups occur. Talk to the shelter staff about anything special to be alert to with his condition. Come and give his guy a snuggle and a kiss and you’re sure to loose your heart to this adorable fella who is very ready to share his love.

To see these and the other adoptable dogs, cats, and bunnies, visit the shelter on Lee Road in Shohola. Call 570-296-7654 for directions and hours or get more information at www.pikecountyhs@blogspot.com .
