Pollinator gardens open at the library
Milford. The project was made possible thanks in part to the efforts of the Pike County 4-H.
Pike County residents who visit the Dingman branch of the Pike County Public Library can now enjoy a pollinator garden. Thanks to funding through the 2023 Pike County Conservation District’s Environmental Education grant, the Pike County 4-H group and library staff were able to plant five pollinator gardens with species that flower at various periods throughout the season to provide habitat and nutrition to local pollinators year-round.
“Many thanks to Pike County PA 4-H, Pike County Conservation District, and Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Pike County, Pa., for helping the Dingmans Twp. branch install these amazing pollinator beds! Everyone learned a lot and the results are beautiful! Stop by and see what the group put together,” the library said in a Facebook announcement on June 20.
The gardens and library are open to all to enjoy. The Dingman branch of the county library is located at 100 Bond Court, Milford. For questions, call 570-686-7045 or visit pikecountypubliclibrary.com.
