The Port Jervis Tourism Board recently shared more details about the city’s seventh annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Blarney Blast, slated to take place Sunday, March 2 from 4 to 6 p.m.
The parade grand marshal for 2025 will be lifetime resident Frank Fuller Jr. He attended Port Jervis High School, and afterwards joined the United States Navy, where he served on the USS America. Fuller is currently the executive officer at the Tri State Naval Ship #7241. He is also a 50+ year member of the Port Jervis Fire Department, serving as past captain and a member of the fire police, the tourism board shared.
The parade will be led by the Hudson Valley Regional Police Pipes & Drums, returning for their seventh year. The Sheahan Gormley School of Irish Dance and Port Jervis’s own Broome Street Traveling All Star Band will also be performing.
Everyone is invited to attend. The parade line up begins at 3pm on Canal Street (GPS 22 Canal St.) The parade kicks off at 4 p.m., traveling onto Orange St., crossing Main St. onto Pike St. / Uptown, making the jughandle by Burger King onto Front St. / Downtown Business District, then traveling onto Jersey Avenue before ending at Fowler Street by the Erie Depot.
There will also be four performance areas:
• Upper Pike Street at Orange Square Park (by cannon)
• Lower Pike Street near the Firemen’s Monument / Farmers Market (by large clock)
• At the intersection of Front and Sussex streets (near Village Pizza at Brother Bruno’s)
• Jersey Avenue, The Promenade (by the Erie Restaurant)
Trophies will be awarded to parade participants in the following categories:
• Grand Marshal’s Choice / Michael McCarthy Memorial Award
• Best Presentation / First Responders
• Most Irish Spirit
• Best Marching Unit
• Best St. Patrick’s Day Float
• Best Youth Group
