Red velvet cupcakes anyone?

— Eighth-grade Family & Consumer Science students whipped up success in their most recent “Sweet-Tooth Creation” competition.
Students were given three class periods to develop a Valentine’s Day-themed dessert with ingredients already found within the classroom.
The groups did a remarkable job taking a creative spin on traditional recipes. The first kitchen group created strawberry-infused sugar cookies served with a strawberry glaze. Group 2 baked a scrumptious strawberry cheesecake with a golden Graham cereal crust.
The third kitchen group iced up some delicious red velvet cupcakes with a homemade cream cheese frosting. And the final dessert, by Group 4, created their take on an ice cream sundae, serving vanilla ice cream with freshly dipped chocolate blueberries topped with graham cracker crumbs and a white chocolate glaze.
The first ever Sweet-Tooth Creation competition resulted in a tie: the winning recipes were created by Kitchen Group 1 and Kitchen Group 2.
The winning students included:
Jarett Baka
Michael Cassaro
