Saige Fohl is Pennsylvania’s Miss Amazing Queen
Milford. The 10-year-old from Milford’s infectious smile and passion presentation won the day. She’ll be competing in the Nationals this July.
Saige Fohl of Milford Borough won her division in the Pennsylvania Miss Amazing pageant and was crowned Pennsylvania’s Miss Amazing Queen. She’ll be going to Nashville, Tenn., for the Nationals in July.
Miss Amazing is a national self-esteem movement led for and by girls and women with disabilities, according to its website.
Ten-year-old Saige, the daughter of Robin and Kurt Fohl, was born with a extremely rare and incurable genetic condition called Non-Ketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH).
Part of the pageant was held virtually and part in person. Each child had to send in a video clip of their talent (passion presentation), answer questions from the judges, and, while wearing their pageant formal wear, tell them three things they would like you to know about them.
Saige, being nonverbal, used her iPad to communicate. During her personal introduction via Zoom, she started off with, “As you can see, I am wearing a Polish costume. I am Polish and I wanted to share a part of my Polish heritage with you today.”
The ceremony was held in Emmaus, where the Queens were announced for each division.
Robin wanted to share this uplifting news about Saige with the community “so we can all come together and cheer her on. We hardly ever read an article that puts a smile on our faces. I hope Saige’s wide infectious smile changes that and keeps our community smiling.”
