On November 9, deputies from the Pike County Sheriff’s Office donated their time for the “Stuff the Cruiser Food Drive” event at various locations throughout Pike County. Deputies were stationed at Dutch’s Market in Greentown, ShopRite in Matamoras, Weis Markets in Lords Valley, and Weis Markets in Dingmans Ferry to collect bags of groceries to help supply area food pantries.

According to an announcement by the sheriff’s office issued through Facebook, the deputies were able to “stuff” 11 cruisers. The food collected was then distributed to the Ecumenical Food Pantry of Pike County, the First Assembly of God Food Pantry, the Food Pantry at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, the Blooming Grove Food Pantry, Shohola Food Pantry, and Bushkill Outreach Food Pantry.

The sheriff’s office expressed thanks to each of the grocery stores that allowed them to collect in their parking lots, as well as “to everyone who came out and supported the local food pantries in Pike County.”
