Misericordia University, with assistance from the Rotary Club of Dallas, recently established a Rotaract Club on campus to further expand options for students to perform service work in regional communities.

Marissa Walzer of Shohola is one of the club's founding members. She serves as social media coordinator.

Rotaract Clubs bring together young adults ages 18 to 30 to exchange ideas with leaders of their communities and are considered partners with their sponsoring Rotary Clubs. The student-led organizations provide opportunities for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between people through a framework of friendship, according to Rotary.org.

Misericordia University Rotaract Club officers are Madison Klopp, president; Jacquelyn Janocha, vice president; Samantha Roth, treasurer; Nicole Hannon, secretary, and Marissa Walzer, social media. Heather Fritz, P.T., D.P.T., assistant professor of physical therapy, is the club advisor. The student organization plans to focus on projects on campus and partnering with existing projects of the Rotary Club of Dallas.
