Snyder Fund helps Milford Readers & Writers Festival take event virtual
Milford. Pike Artworks, on behalf of the festival, was awarded the grant for continuing the popular festival safely during a pandemic year.
Pike Artworks, Inc., on behalf of The Milford Readers & Writers Festival, was awarded the Richard L. Snyder Fund grant, which enabled the festival to bring participants the virtual festival this year.
“Doing It Write,” held the weekend of Sept. 11-13, with some of distinguished alumni of the festival. They included feminist Gloria Steinem, New Yorker cartoonist and author Bob Eckstein, and science fiction editor Gordon Van Gelder.
“In this pandemic year, the festival board is happy that they could bring readers conversations with the authors that they have come to expect and to engage them in virtual conversations,” said the board. “The board would like to thank Greater Pike Community Foundation for their generous support.”
Greater Pike Community Foundation was created to enable generous individuals, families and local businesses to maximize their charitable support through organized, targeted, long-term community philanthropy. The foundation provides a permanent and personal way to give back to the region and have worked so hard to nurture and maintain.
