Wayne Memorial Hospital’s Hospice Team offers a full spectrum of compassionate care, allowing patients to live their final days to the fullest. Hospice care neither hastens nor postpones death; instead, it focuses on alleviating discomfort and providing advanced pain control, supporting patients in their desire to die with dignity and as much control as possible, in the comfort of their own homes. The team includes professionals and trained volunteers.

To expand its volunteer base in Wayne, Pike, Lackawanna, and Susquehanna counties, the Wayne Memorial Hospital Hospice program will host spring training on the following dates: April 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and April 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. Attendance at all three sessions, in addition to the WMH General Volunteer Orientation, is required.

Those interested in this training program may call 570-253-8737 or email malicky@wmh.org to enroll by March 31. There is no cost to participate in the training.
