BUSHKILL — Send servicemen and -women serving overseas your thanks through Project Shoebox, now being organized by Saw Creek Estates, a gated residential community in Bushkill.
Saw Creek resident and Notre Dame High School student Michael Gottschau is joining forces with Saw Creek Estates on this effort to gather donations of basic toiletries, nonperishable food items, and other supplies to send to troops stationed in Afghanistan. The collected items will be placed into adult-size shoeboxes and addressed to individual soldiers.
The troop that serves with Saw Creek Public Safety Watch Commander Ed Hammond in particular will receive the shoeboxes.
Drop off donated items, such as powdered drink mixes, dry goods and snacks, playing cards, board games, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, CDS and DVDS, and much more, at the Member Services Office at Saw Creek Estates by no later than June 15.
The Saw Creek Estates Community Association is a member-focused homeowner's association representing nearly 3,000 property owners.
For more information, call Saw Creek Estates at 570-588-9329.
For a complete list of acceptable, perishable items to donate, please stop by the Member Services Office at Saw Creek Estates.
