HAWLEY — Julie Teeter-Seiler, a fifth-generation member of the family business, has been added as a licensed funeral director to the Teeters’ 166 year-old funeral service of Hawley.
Teeter-Seiler is a graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School and earned her bachelor’s degree at Siena College of Loudonville, N.Y. After graduation from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, she has completed a one-year Resident Internship with her family’s firm.
She has passed both the Pennsylvania State Board and the International Conference of Funeral Examining Boards requirements and was issued her funeral director’s license on Sept. 29.
The new licensee is also the eighth Teeter to become a licensed funeral director. Teeter-Seiler has been fully involved in all aspects of the Teeters’ Funeral Chapel operations as well as the Teeters’ Furniture firm since 1988.
A resident of Hawley, she is the wife of Richard Seiler, the mother of two children: Rebecca and Jordan, and the daughter of Richard and Mary Anne Teeter, also of Hawley.
