Wayne County Arts Alliance online auction happening now through Sept. 29
Wayne County. The auction focuses on the 2023 Summer Art Project.
The Wayne County Arts Alliance recently announced an online auction of its 2023 Summer Art Project, “Magical Homes for Fairies and Gnomes,” running now through Sept 29, 2023.
All summer long visitors to Wayne County could spot the “Fairy & Gnome Homes” project at local businesses and organizations who sponsored this project. Local artists donated their time and talent to design and create these pieces, using mostly natural forest materials. The Summer Art Project was organized by WCAA board members Phyllis Chekenian, Lisa Glover and Heather Spencer-Hogan, and originally inspired by WCAA member Jody Rowe.
In its auction announcement, the WCAA said, “Now, Autumn is here and it’s time for our project sponsors to wave a fond farewell to the wonderful Fairy & Gnome homes that have graced their premises all summer-long and give you a chance to own the one you’ve had your eye on!”
Anyone interested can check out the displays at the WCAA website: waynecountyartsalliance.org.
The WCAA also made a point to note that these creations are not meant to be weatherproof, so they may need to be taken in during rough weather.
The purchase of each artwork will help support the Wayne County Arts Alliance and its ongoing projects. Winning bidders will be contacted following the end date of the auction and the WCAA will help coordinate pick-up at the sponsor locations.
Wayne County Arts Alliance is a not-for-profit organization governed by volunteer members.
