Wayne Memorial wants you to take a survey
HONESDALE — What are the greatest health care needs in Wayne and Pike counties today?
Wayne Memorial Hospital and Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers want to know what you think, and are asking the public to complete an internet survey.
In addition to offering valuable input, those filling out the survey may also be eligible to win a $100 gift card through a random drawing. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and can be accessed at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6KYNJGC until Tuesday, May 31.
The hospital launched the survey to discover the area's most critical priorities and unmet needs.
“To accomplish this, wide ranging input from the community is sought," said Jack Dennis, manager of grants, development and veterans outreach Wayne Memorial.
Results of the survey will help direct programs, services and delivery in the future.
A similar survey in 2013 received 1,200 responses. The project is guided by an advisory committee representing the hospital and health centers, school districts, United Ways, chambers of commerce, local governments and elected officials, businesses, and human service organizations.
The study will be completed by June 30 and made public at wmh.org. The 2013 study, still available on the site, led to the following developments:
A new behavioral health clinic and dental clinic in Lords Valley
New family health centers in Carbondale, Hamlin, and Vandling
An expansion of the Honesdale Family Health Center
The imaging department purchased a Toshiba Aquilion 160-slice PRIME CT Scanner in part with grant money supported by the survey data.
The most recent result of the 2013 study will soon help in combatting the number one need identified at that time: behavioral/mental health and substance abuse, with a $1 million expansion of the Honesdale Behavioral Health Center the result of a federal grant.
