Workforce Development Agency offers unemployment help, other services

The Pike County Workforce Development Agency recently announced an upcoming class aimed at helping folks answer questions about unemployment compensation, for both employees and former employers. A representative will be at the Agency’s office (837 Route 6, Unit 2, Shohola) on Monday, January 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to answer any questions. To schedule an appointment, call the Agency at 570-296-2909.
The Agency also offers free basic computer classes at its office every Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. Reservations are required by calling 570-296-2909. Other career training programs may also be arranged through the Agency, which offers funding for eligible individuals wanting to engage in “short-term training programs tailored specifically for high-demand occupations.”
For anyone needing some wardrobe help ahead of an important job interview, the Agency’s office also has a no-cost professional clothes closet with a variety of sizes for both men and women.
