New officers hired

    MILFORD - The borough council Monday hired three new part-time officers for Milford’s police department.Eugene Lewis and Joseph Ostrom have prior police experience, while Salvator Pinto is newly graduated from a college law enforcement training program. Mayor Merritt Quinn said he and Chief Gary Williams endorsed the hiring. Upon Williams’ recommendation the council also promoted Corporal Jack DaSilva to Sergeant. The two experienced officers will earn $10 an hour for the first month, $11 thereafter. Pinto will start at $9 and receive $10 hourly after his first month.
