Bus driver gets felony charges for indecent contact with student

Pike County District Attorney announced the arrest of Christopher Ludwig, age 34, of East Stroudsburg, PA, on several felony charges for engaging in sexual contact with a minor. The Pike County DA’s Office Criminal Investigation Division arrested Ludwig for the charges of Institutional Sexual Assault, Dissemination of Sexual Material to a Minor, Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Corruption of Minors, all felony charges, and Indecent Assault a misdemeanor.[1]

According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the District Attorney’s Office received a report through Childline regarding inappropriate contact by a school bus driver toward a student in the East Stroudsburg Area North High School. The affidavit states that Ludwig is a school bus driver for the district. The charges involve Ludwig contacting the student through Snapchat social media app and having indecent contact with the student. The affidavit states that detectives found evidence of Ludwig sending messages to the student regarding sex toys and sexual acts. It was also discovered that Ludwig was transferring money through CashApp to the student.

District Attorney Tonkin praised the individual who called Childline to report the strange behavior, saying “the reporting of strange behavior between adults and children can literally save a child. I encourage anyone with information about child abuse to call Pennsylvania’s Childe line at (877) 971-2141 so that it can be investigated.”

Magisterial District Judge Deborah Fischer arraigned Ludwig and set bail in the amount of $ 350,000.00. A Preliminary Hearing is scheduled for Pike County Central Court on September 27, 2022.
